The stock is only part of it. Recyclable paperboard, FSC-certified board, recycled Kraft, corrugated, and plant-based compostable stocks are the credible base materials — but inks, coatings, laminates, and whether the finished box can be recycled as one piece decide the real outcome. A laminated box on recycled stock is usually less recyclable than a plain one on virgin board. Mono-material builds with soy-based inks and water-based coatings perform best at end of life, because there's nothing to separate.
Recyclable is the right default for most products. Kerbside recycling for paperboard is near-universal, so the box has somewhere real to go, and it's the cheaper option. Compostable is worth it when the packaging gets contaminated in use and can't be recycled anyway, food, coffee, some cosmetics. Two things to weigh before you choose it: most compostable stocks need industrial composting facilities your customer may not have access to, and the barrier coatings that make packaging grease- or moisture-resistant can affect how it breaks down. Tell us the product and the market, and we'll tell you which one actually holds up, including when the answer is the cheaper one.
Environmental claims are regulated. "Biodegradable," "compostable," and "eco-friendly" carry specific evidentiary requirements in the US under the FTC Green Guides and in the EU under its green-claims rules, and unsupported wording is a real enforcement risk for a small brand. We'll tell you which claims your chosen material and certification actually support, and supply the documentation behind them. What you put on the artwork is your call and your legal responsibility, but you won't be guessing.
Our MOQ is 50 boxes per design. That's built for a first production run, a limited launch, or a single-SKU test. Per-unit pricing drops at 250, 500, and 1,000 units. As a rough guide, a standard mailer at 50 units lands around $0.47/unit, and the estimated price is lower if the order quantity is about 1,000. There's a setup charge for die plates, tooling and equipment adjusted in your quote price, and that's the only fee outside the per-unit price and freight. No hidden artwork or file-prep charges.
Yes. We ship to fulfilment centres and 3PL warehouses, and we can produce to FBA prep requirements, including barcode placement and carton labelling. Send your warehouse's receiving requirements with your order. Getting them wrong causes rejected shipments, and it's easier to build them in than to fix them at the dock.
Eco-conscious buying is no longer a niche thing of packaging market. Moreover, the shift is showing up everywhere you look.
The material choice is the standing pillar of sustainable packaging. This is where where sustainability either holds up or falls apart. Hence, we take this part of the process very seriously. Our ecosystem of stocks is recyclable, responsibly sourced, or compostable. Options are:
